Biography of Victoria Sarfo


Victoria Sarfo was born on December 17, 1969 in Kumasi to Mr. Opoku Agyemang and Mad. Agnes Arthur who hails from Ofinso in the Ashanti region as Victoria Opoku Agyemang.

Victoria fifth of ten children started schooling at Tafo/ Pankrono School in Kumasi, then to Aduman secondary school in 1983, realizing that she was good in handicraft she left Aduman after first year to Amaniampong vocational school at Asante Mampong in the Ashanti region of Ghana, where she studied catering.

After school, she worked as a restaurant manager at the OAU club in Kumasi. Having worked for over for six year she decided to quit her job because she wanted to be closer to the Lord since the condition in working at a hotel was not favorable.

In 1991, Vic gave her life to Christ and came out with an album entitled Ownwanwani Jesus with Miss Pat Anthony who was then with Kapital radio in Kumasi.

In this same year she secured an employment with Darko Farms in Kumasi as the personnel in charge of canteen, whiles in this position she was taking a course in nursing. In 1993 she became the dispenser in the same establishment, this position she held till 1996,when she decided to go into full time singing ministry.

Since then she’s come out with three solo albums; the first one Jesus kasa which didn’t do well because she didn't have a producer, the second one was Enye mea which was produced by Tintopic production, sold about sixty thousand copies and she was nominated as female gospel musician during the 2002 Ghana music awards.

Her latest album Nhyira that has one of her all time hits; Awurade apagya ne nsa produced by Nana Kwaku Sarfo has sold over seventy thousand copies and it is still selling. Victoria is working on her next album; this will come out in Easter 2006.

In her Gospel music career, Vic has traveled to many countries notably the United Kingdom, United States and Germany. She worked with Akasanoma radio in Bronx, NY for six months in 2001 where she was hosting a gospel request show.

Victoria is married to Nana Kwaku Sarfo a marketing consultant and they are with a beautiful daughter, Ohemaa who is seven.

Vic owns a salon, Victory salon in Kumasi and does bridal decorations. She enjoys singing, cooking, and playing the key board and guitar as partime. Amy Newman is her role model and her favorite secular musicians are Kojo Antwi and Nana Fynn. She enjoys Tuo-Zaafi a northern Ghanaian dish with relish.
