Praye group on sanitation campaign

One of Ghana’s hottest groups of hip-life artistes has embarked on a
sanitation campaign to help Ghana maintain clean and healthy
environment in the various communities.

The group, which comprises Nana Kwame, Steven Fiawoo and Eugene Baah
Kente known in the showbiz as Praye Tenten, Praye Tietia and Praye Ho
Ne Ho respectively, were invited by Zoomlion Ghana Limited to
collaborate with it to help in the campaign for the total eradication
of malaria in Ghana.

The song they have composed for the campaign is entitled, “Next To
Cleanliness is Godliness', featuring Koo Fori of Efie Wura, a TV drama
series.

They used their showbiz names as symbols in the song to educate people,
the Praye Tenten was described as the broom used in sweeping the
bedrooms and the corridors; the Praye Ho Ne Ho for compounds and the
Praye Tietia for scrubing the bathrooms.

In an interview with The Saturday Statesman, ‘Praye Ho Ne Ho disclosed
that the campaign was part of their quota in helping the government to
kick off malaria in this country. 'Reports on malarial cases are
alarming. Malaria is one of the most killer diseases so with this
massive campaign with Zoomlion, there is going to be a vast change in
the current state of sanitation'.

According to him, their aim as artistes was not just to entertain
people, but also to use the music in other forms to transform society.
'We will therefore advise our fellow musicians not only to entertain
people with their songs, but also undertake projects that will be
beneficial to society.'
