Adina Thembi-Ndamse is counting herself a lucky artiste indeed because she has been snapped up by a record label only a few weeks after winning the last edition of the Stars of the Future singing contest organised by Charterhouse.
The young lady has been signed on by Kiki Banson’s EKB Records and her first single, Don’t Judge Me, started playing on Peace FM and Atlantis Radio last week.
The EKB Records CEO told Showbiz more songs will be recorded and added to Don’t Judge Me for a full album which will be released by the beginning of January next year.
“She’s extremely talented and I believe she can go as far as a singer can go. She has got enormous potential. ” Banson said. “I did not know of her before the last Stars of the Future competition but she impressed me a lot throughout the contest and I decided to take her on right away.”
Don’t Judge Me is a mid-tempo piece and Adina takes advantage of her first recording to make a clear statement with her voice and lyrics. The song feature a rap by Jay-So.
Adina says music means a lot to her and she is going to take it even more seriously though she has just entered Central University. “I think I can manage to study and also do my music. Just like Obour, I think I can go to school and record as well. With God on my side, I believe I can weather the storm.”
A product of Wesley Girls’ High School in Cape Coast, Adina is taking lessons on the bass guitar and would love to play the instrument at her live appearances.
