The annual Ghana independence celebrations in the UK this year will feature a host of Ghanaian artistes.

Ghana’s 51st independence would be celebrated in Ghana and in various countries across the world including UK. According to ghanamusic.com, the event organizers, Akwaaba UK and Rich Promotions have promised music fans that the celebration in the UK, at Oceans 270 Mare Street, London E8 1HE would promote cultural awareness to its fullest.

Ghanaian hiplife artistes such as VIP, OD4, Madfish, FBS and the Rainbow Cultural Troupe would perform at the independence celebrations.

They would be supported by UKS T2 featuring Jodie Aysha, performing their smash hit single (Heartbroken) Titchy Stryder.

Event management and PR gurus, Dennis Tawiah of D-Vision Network and Akwaaba UK stated at a recent press conference that this year’s celebration would keep the emphasis of promoting cultural awareness of Ghana and afford those living in the UK a chance to celebrate their Ghanaian heritage.

“The event will celebrate the freedom of Ghana and appreciate the work, bravery, courage shown by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, whose vision was that Ghanaians should live in peace,” he stated.

Ghana’s 51st Independence celebration will take place on Saturday March 8, 2008 at the Oceans 270 Mare Street, London E8 1HE.
