With just some few days around the corner to celebrate the Ghana Music Awards Festival 2007, the talk of the day now is who breaks that “Artiste of the Year” Jinx - Ofori Amponsah or Lord Kenya.

Ghanaian Rap heavyweight champion, Lord Kenya has told Ghana Base Music in a telephone chat that, he’s not expecting to win the top award at this year’s Ghana Music Awards Festival 2007.

“I’m not expecting to take home that award after taking a leave for some years, but if I win I’d love it”, he said.

Lord Kenya battles with Musicians Kwaku Gyasi, Obrafuor, Ofori Amponsah, King Ayisoba, Batman Samini, Wutah and Obour with his song “Born Again” which featured Ofori Amponsah for the Artiste of the Year Award.

Other categories he’s fighting for are; most popular song of the year, Hiplife song of the year, Hiplife artiste of the year and the Best collaboration of the year.

Should he win the award for the most popular song of the year it would make him the first artiste to win this award for a second time.

Lord Kenya was the third and first hiplife artiste to win the song of the year award with his hit single Medo in 2002.
