The Managing Director of Yegoala Hotel and Nite Club, Mr. Anthony Yeboah has stated emphatically that many applicants have come his way hoping to run his night Club and “Ocean Records whom we had a good working relation could be one.”
Mr. Yeboah who was reacting to a publication carried out last week by this paper on issues to do with the renewal of a contract between Yegoala Nite Club and Ocean Records which seem to have hit rocks, added that he was caught up in a lot of work at that time of giving out Yegoala Nite Club.
“I can run my own Club but because I had to start another project in Kumasi and the time being limited on my side forced me to give it out on contract to whoever was ready,” he said.
According to Tony it was unfortunate that the relationship had to end in such a manner.
‘Though Yegoala Nite Club had a name, I also acknowledge the fact that Ocean Records added to the success story’ he said.
Tony however denied that the management of Yegoala doubled the price as alleged by Ocean Records.
He also denied that of the utility bills. He however, concurred that though the contract stipulated that three days – Friday Saturday and Sundays - were the days for Ocean Records, they usually use two out of the three.
“This was not our doing because we had not taken away the one day neither did we give it out hence it was Ocean Record’s decision,” he added.

On the weekdays aside the weekends, he told this reporter that it happened once.
“This happened because the person had booked for the place even before the contract was signed.
Unfortunately the program was held within the first week before Ocean Records started.”
Adding to a point to Tony’s claim, the hotel manager, Mr. Owusu Ansah told Weekly Fylla that because Yegoala’s name was used to run the Club, all VAT were collected through Yegoala “hence we are praying that no debt was left unattended to or Yegoala has to bear that.”
It was also alleged that Ocean Records left behind a lot of spoils hence they had to change everything.
Reacting to the claims Richmond Oduro Kwarteng, the MD for Ocean Records provided document to prove his case.
He denied leaving spoils.
As to whether he would reconsider his decision and go back to the talk with Yegoala, he was bit quiet on that.
