The Chart-topping and Mobo award winner Batman Samini, last weekend put a performance that could be described as in no better words than “Magnificent”.
Probably what one could say about his performance is his justification for beating Tony Tetuila and two others for the Music of Black Origin Awards [Mobo] in 2006.
Described as the current rave in the Ghanaian Music Circles of today, critics of Samini would even attest to the fact that, his performance that night was one that will be hard to forget.
Backed by his stage dancers, Batman did tracks on his Dankwansere album like Egwee, Di Wo Lane Mu and Do Something. Of course his stage dancers passed the test of time with their spectacular acrobatic display.
The crowd went haywire when Batman Samini started singing his ever controversial “Linda” song. One could feel the mad crave Batman’s fans had for that song.
He later shot on with more songs on his latest release “Samini”. He did Sexy, Music, Me and Da Mic.
One cannot talk about Batman Samini’s speedy rise to fame without talking about the defunct “Jaycee Connection”, a rap group with two others, the trinity (Batman Samini, K.K. Fosu, and Kokoveli), the beef with K. K. Fosu, the Linda Controversy, the Change of Stage-name from Batman to Samini and the likes.
Yet Batman told the crowd that, what they are getting from him at the moment is just a tip of the iceberg. “There is more to come”, he screamed.
The expectant crowd chanted in synchronism as he brought his performance to an end with his signature tune ‘kpoi’.
