IT WAS A SWEET experience as the beautiful and unadulterated sound of jazz, rhythm and blues filled the air, giving soothing music which Jazz Tone, the number one jazz club in Ghana, has become well known for.
Though the audience was made up of more elderly people, it appeared that the few younger ones in attendance did not feel left out as they enjoyed the highly relaxing atmosphere.
This was made even more pleasant with the American and local dishes served at the in-house restaurant, coupled with a well-stocked bar which served a variety of wines, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
With poetry and hip-hop nights on Wednesdays and Thursdays respectively, Jazz Tone is day-in, day-out becoming a great hang-out spot, especially before a night out to town.
They are located at the Airport Residential area, close to the W.H.O. offices.
CHAMPS, a dynamic sports bar located in the premises of Paloma at circle, is perfect for those who like to enjoy their drinks in an action-packed environment without necessarily dancing.
It is also a place to meet new people who are not interested in keeping up appearances, so to speak, and yet, want to have a good time; something lacking in Ghana’s nightlife these days.
And even better is the fact that entry is free so if it doesn’t work out as expected, you can always walk out. No harm done! TANTRA Night Club, located at Osu R.E., behind Barclays bank, was definitely alive and kicking.
The hip-hop, rap and dancehall, which is characteristic of most Ghanaian clubs, can get old at times, so if you have an open mind and an adventurous spirit then TANTRA is a great spot to try this coming weekend.
It would definitely make you loose control and shake off some of those week-day blues.
Interestingly, it appeared that the teenagers were in the majority and this however brought a touch of young, energetic exuberance, which made the clubbing experience more enjoyable, even for those who were not such big fans of techno.
The exhilarating atmosphere can definitely not be ignored and it would get your foot stumping and heart racing; just make sure to bring a good pair of dancing shoes.
The international crowd also gave the club an European feel and with a pool table, wide screen television as well as upstairs and downstairs bars, it appeared that everyone’s needs were met.
Friday night is also ladies’ night, which means that 50% of your job is done. All in all, it wasn’t a bad weekend and with the model beach party coming up, Caribbean style this week at Labadi beach, it’s sure to get even better.
So make sure you catch next week’s article for the latest happenings in and around town and the coolest places to be. STAY BLESSED AND PEACE OUT!
