In exactly two days, Charterhouse will begin another search for “made in Ghana ” entertainers - a Music Star, a Comedy Icon and the new one – a Freestyle Dance Champion.
At Takoradi on Friday the wannabe Dance Champions who will walk into the auditioning room will be expected to dance to a number of selected songs. And their performance judged by high-profiled showbiz judges.
The addition of this new category, according to the organizers is to widen their search to reach as many talented young ones as possible.
At a press conference organized last Tuesday, the Events Director – Mrs. Theresa Ayoade said “Charterhouse has realized that Ghana is made up of so many talented young people who are just waiting to be discovered”.
She said her organization is looking forward to the day when we will have an event that will not involve foreign entertainers but our own bred young ones.
Same time last year, hundreds of wannabe stars were auditioned country-wide among which two amazingly talented young entertainers were “born” – A Music Star and a Comedian Icon.
Today, these two can also boast of rubbing shoulders with other West African gurus in both the music and comedy industries; just as Ghanaians can also proudly talk of two great but very young stand-up comedians whose presence on all events can be felt by the deep roar of laughter heard from the audience when they are on stage.
Very soon, Ghanaians will witness a remarkable showing of great talents when Charterhouse launches the album of last year’s winner of the music category of Stars of the Future - Irene Logan which features Jayne Awindor – the second runner up.
A similar success story can be said of David Oscar – last year’s winner of the comedy category and his runner – up Foster.
Today, these two are a very popular household names in Ghana ’s stand-up comedy industry.
