This Saturday, December 22, top comedian Michael Blankson together with Nigerian colleagues Klint the Drunk, Julius D’Agwu and Jeddi will storm the National Theatre to treat fans to a series of jokes, at a concert dubbed “A Night of 1005 Laughs and Music”.
Performing alongside the comedians would be the controversial A Plus, the sensational duo, Irene and Jane, Batman Samini, Gyedu Blay Ambulley and many others.
According to the organizers of the event, Charterhouse, the idea is to give Ghanaians 1005 reasons to laugh-off their stress while enjoying good music, all in one night of excitement.
Michael Blankson is rated African King of Comedy and for several years had been referred to as one of the most original stand-up comics in the world. His performances are often characterised by tears of laughter from the audience.
The African King of Comedy has been entertaining audiences across the globe for more than a decade and having been inspired by fellow stand-up comedian Eddie Murphy, Michael began to develop his comedic talent in 1992 in the unkind comedy clubs of Philadelphia and Pennsylvania.
His comedic appeal grew from his involvement with BET’s Comicview series, HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, Showtime at Harlem and Live in Hollywood. However, it was in a Los Angeles comedy club that Michael got his big break.
Patrons of previous nights of Comedy and Music know that Klint the Drunk and Julius D’Agwu are no new names as far as hilarious comedies are concerned.
The two have on several occasions wowed their audiences with rib-cracking jokes that leave them yearning for more. The night of 1005 Laughs and Music is sponsored by MTN, Star Lager Beer, Erata Hotel and TV3.
