THIS YEAR’S Joy FM Night With The Stars would be remembered in the
history of Ghana showbiz as the biggest and best, compared to other
musical events organized this year.

The auditorium of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) was filled to capacity and music fans were treated to songs ranging from gospel, R&B and hiplife among others.

Thousands of music fans who thronged the venue for the show did not regret paying the GH¢35 for the show as it was splendid and worth the money.

The show, which started at 9:30pm and ended at 2:00am, saw every available space in the huge auditorium occupied.

There was heavy traffic that moved at a painfully slow pace so most people had to park their cars 500 metres from AICC to complete the journey on foot.

Among the artistes who performed were the sensational Kwaw Kese aka Abodam, Becca, VIP, Kontihene, 4x4, and Five 5. The rest were Pastor Lenny Akpadie, OD4, K.K Fosu, Kofi B, Okyeame Kwame and P-Square from Nigeria.

The show kicked off with a performance by 4X4, who performed one of their popular hits, followed by the group Five 5.
Kwaw Kese of Abodam fame also staged a brilliant performance.

His 15-minute performance turned the whole auditorium upside down as music fans could not help but dance amid shouts of “abodam, abodam”.

K.K Fosu and Kofi B, who performed with live band, thrilled fans with their hit songs like ‘Anadwo Ye De’, ‘Koforidua Flowers’, ‘Akua Atta’ among others.

However, one artiste who stole the show with her live performance and stagecraft was Becca, thrilling the crowd with her eclectic and electrifying style.

As if music fans were initially dazzled by Becca’s charming personality and silky voice and could therefore not get on their feet to dance, they just sat wiggling in their seats almost to the chagrin of the beautiful singer.

“Get up and let’s dance to make ourselves happy”, were Becca’s words to the crowd, who immediately jumped on their feet and began dancing.

Looking through the crowd, one could see it was largely made up of energetic youth.

The few elderly ones present did not want to be left out of the jamming and boogying as they rubbed shoulders with the youth.

Becca’s performance won the hearts of many as she demonstrated to the crowd that she was truly an icon and a force to reckon with on the global music scene. Her performance was thus greeted with loud cheers and clapping from the audience.

VIP also set the tone for others to follow. When they mounted the stage, people could not remain in their seats as they got up to dance.

P-Square received a rousing applause when they mounted the stage, thrilling the crowd with their latest songs currently making waves on the world music scene.
