After two bouts of assault from two groups of social misfits who went lunatic at her sexuality, hiplife sensation,
Mzbel has not run out of love.
At a quiet ceremony last November, the hiplife queen was engaged to the man of her heart, Leke, the British-born Nigerian and proprietor of a cable television network in London.
Plans are advanced for the grand wedding, probably in December, to the businessman who incidentally, is Mzbel’s latest producer on the OndBox Network of UK.
In one of the most traumatic moments of her life, the hiplife, queen was the victim of two cases of assault and armed robbery which happened just within a year of each other in which she was sexually assaulted by some students of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and later by armed robbers.
When she disappeared from the public view to recuperate, her ordeal was further deepened by rumours that she had been dumped by her long-time finance.
A year on, Mzbel is back to her erotic self, not only in musical full flight but vibrant as usual to dispel the rumours that her boyfriend vamoosed.
The rumours probably made the rounds because she talked about marriage after the incidents and it has been two years since her nightmare at the hands of students of KNUST and a year since her brutal attack by armed robbers in her home.
Speaking to the Graphic Showbiz,
Mzbel, born Nana Akua Amoah, said “it is never true we have broken. Yes we are going to get married probably by the end of the year although a date hasn’t been fixed. I am not very certain exactly when but hopefully, you will hear wedding bells by the end of the year. We will have to fix a date and discuss with our respective families, I want to get married”.
“We are both very busy but we find time to be together when ever our busy schedules will allow us. On the contrary to what people think, my boyfriend has been supportive. I have been performing outside the country and my boyfriend who lives in the UK makes sure he travels over to be with me. My latest gig was in the US, some weeks ago and he was there with me. I also went to spend time with him in London. There is no truth in the rumours”.
She also denied rumours that she is a very troubled person and just putting up appearances.
“I am good. I am very fine. Both incidents were devastating but bad things happen in this world and I don’t think people should stop living because something happened to them. I cannot turn back the hands of time. What I can do however, is to look to the future with a positive mind”.
The 26-year old musician who fell out with her manager, Goodies a few weeks after the second sexual assault has signed onto a new label.
“I am currently on a new label, OndBox Network, UK. I parted ways with Goodies after I was attacked by the armed robbers. He disappeared so I decided to move on”.
Her latest work, “Kiss Me” under the new label was recorded with both Appietus and Jay Q hits the market this month. The eight track work is in Twi and English.
