Hiplife is crossing borders in the West African region as a few Ghanaian artistes are producing crossover music and widening their fan-base.
In addition contemporary Ghanaian music is reaching Southern Africa. Preceded with its music videos on Channel O and MTV Base hiplife is gradually gaining ground.
Tic Tac, one hiplife’s top acts is scheduled for a live performance this weekend in South Africa.
Tic Tac from his early days with “Philomena Kpitinge” has matured and reinvented himself as a very versatile and prolific artiste garnering a number of awards and stage shows worldwide.
This Sunday, September 16 he will take center stage on Big Brother Africa’s 4th eviction show.
Tic Tac who has shared stages with great artistes of all times like Stevie Wonder (at the recent Independence Day celebration), 50Cent, Shaggy, Lloyd Banks, Sway and Joe Thomas.
He will be performing the ever-favorite track ‘Kangaroo’ from his hit new album, Accra Connection.
With his great stagecraft, he will try and showcase his talent and hopefully will leave a good name for himself as an artiste and the country he represents – Ghana.
This might be a chance for Ghanaian music to prove it’s mettle.
