They said yello’ and they meant it. It was so “Y’ello” that even the Wolomei had to leave behind their usual white attires to fit into the MTN colour code.
The night of comedy was great. With Meridian and other popular tracks they spent about 20mins entertaining the laughter-ready audience.
Mac Diamond Nyamekor was emcee that night and although his jokes were not necessarily on point, he managed to hold onto his own. The show actually started when George Andah gave a speech.
I go die, the one and only Grandmaster of Comedy, was the first item on the bill. At the first sight of him, people started to laugh. Luckily he was able to sustain his appearance with his jokes.
Then after Nyamekor tried a few not-so-funny jokes, but fortunately Kojo, a Ghanaian comedian based in the UK saved us. He came up with some cross-culture jokes as well as a few dirty jokes, which were not so bad only it did not go all the way with his audience.
Now, the one thing almost everybody else will remember that night was A-Plus’ act. Right after a commercial break, there was a JJ Rawlings and Konadu short skit.
They had people wondering what was happening until he revealed himself with a few lines of his politically incorrect lyrics. He may not have intended to give us a comic act, but it he across as the funniest comedian yet. The political twist to it added something extra to his act, plus the audience could relate to his jokes more than they had with the others.
Julius de Jenius, who is considered in some circles as the King of Comedy in Ghana gave us a royal laugh. He took off well where A-Plus departed.
Then came Daasebre Gyamera.

Welcomed by a screaming audience who had not seen him perform since his incarceration. The long absence has definitely made people fonder of him. It was a shame he couldn't keep up the hype that preceded him. His dancers were poorly coordinated and it was evident that they had each missed rehearsal sessions.
Maybe he should have done one of his first numbers. We have clearly had enough with the miming. His closing statement was what received that most applause from the audience.
Jesus Christ is the only thing right left in the wrong world.
For the last performance, Basketmouth was at his best. The dreadlocked jester went all the, bringing all the jokes he could conjure.
As usual, the ‘white’ folks were picked on. Poor them. In conclusion, the night was fun with jaw splitting, sidesplitting, and rib cracking punch-lines.
