AS PART of the Pan-African celebrations in Ghana, “Spirit of David”, Nigeria’s foremost gospel dance club would be organizing a series of dance activities during a six-day tour in Ghana.
The activities, including workshops, are to communicate life-changing values as well offer entertainment to Ghanaians throughout the 10 regions.
Major activities would include a variety of dance performances at the National Theatre in Accra, scheduled for Thursday July 26 2007.
It is under the theme “Sentence To Life: A Reflection Of Colour And Colourlessness,” and would be supported by the Society for Performing Art in Nigeria (SPAN), Ghana’s National Theatre, Ministry of Tourism and Diasporan Relations, Grafitec Ghana, Imexco, Metro TV, as well Indomie from Nigeria.
The performances would combine all dance genres as salsa, hop-hip, dance-hall and others, as well as cultural dances featuring the Ghana Dance Ensemble and other dance troupes.
This is the second time “Spirit of David” is touring Ghana for a show, after their first tour two years ago.
This year the group is touring ten nations - five in Europe and five in Africa. It began in February in Burkina Faso and is now in Ghana as the second country.
“Spirit of David” is one of Nigeria’s acclaimed gospel dance clubs, formed in April 1997.
It presents everyday realities and life-changing truths via unorthodox, professional and anointed dances; having staged at over 5000 events after hitting the limelight.
Because the group’s shows were inspiring and uplifting, its membership had grown interminably from 8 to over 1000 worldwide, today.
Their performance in Ghana would include a selection of about 30-40 dancers’ stage performances. The rate for their rendition is GH˘10 (˘100,000).
