In recent times, contemporary music has taken a different turn altogether; music has become a trendy business that most young people want to engage in and this has brought untold decadence among the youth.

The lyrics we hear from some songs played on various FM stations across the country and the clips televised on our screens are very suggestive and have largely provoked immorality.

These days, it is not uncommon to see children singing these profane songs they have heard on air.

I think, some songs have played a very great role in the moral decay among our youth and something serious out to be done to flush out the songs from the system, if we indeed want our youth to be responsible men and women in the future.

I am therefore appealing to the President of MUSIGA to properly scrutinize songs and clips before they are launched.

Besides, it is incumbent on parents to protect their children from these profane songs.
