Gospel music dominates the music scene in Ghana and not a day passes without a new release hitting the music stands.
Among the latest to join the gospel bandwagon is Mary-Mary Agbenyegali’s debut, Ade Kese which can be described as an inspirational one. The album has eight songs all composed by Mary herself.
The Aseda Kese album comprises praise, reggae and worship songs which do not only express gratitude to God, but more importantly, charge listeners not to give up in life.
On Ade Kese, the title song, Mary encourages believers to hold on to their faith in the Lord.
With good vocal backing, Mary expresses the grace of God in Mmerepa Aba, another song on the album. She says as long as she lives, she will praise the name of the Lord and serve Him well.
Another song is Dzodzi, in which Mary says many were the plans of the devil against us but God has protected us against them.
Other songs on the album, produced by Speech Music Production, are Yesu Mbo, Yewo Nyame, Menim Ne No, Awurade Kasa and Ewurade Adom.
Mary, 27, started singing in her teens when she was a member of the Ebenezer Assemblies of God Church at Accra New Town, where she worships.
Mary who hails from Anlo in the Volta Region attended Methodist Secondary School at Wa. According to her, she was not able to further her education after secondary school due to financial limitations.
Mary says her dream to preach the word of God through music in order to win souls for Christ has become a reality with the release of her album.
