The Ghanaian music industry has over the years introduced fame, fortune, wealth and has taken some even into the international levels.
Talk of the hiplife papa Reggie Rockstone, Lord Kenya, Owoahene Nana Acheampong, Daddy Lumba, Stella Seal, Tic Tac, Samini, Tinny and more one can think of.
All such artistes started from a point and that point is where “Sunsum”, a young hiplife artiste is rising from.
“Sunsum” is an Akan word which means soul in English; as the soul really follows body movement and that’s what he says: to move all around music. His name is Edward Oppong, a hardworking new talent.
Before working on his maiden album, he featured on highlife artiste Captain Kyeremanteng’s album in 2001. “Asetena pa ma awirefire” is the album title, which tells how wealth easily clears away thoughts supposed to be dear to ones’ heart whist struggle in life.
Other tracks making the album includes; “w’awia makoma”, “obaa no” and my “future”. He declared how challenging it is to be new in the music industry, an industry, which is been described by some great artiste as non in existence.
The up and coming artiste says to him, music came as a surprise. He urges music producers in the country to help up and coming talented musicians when they call on them for production.
