Shasha Marley had an encounter with an angel on a flight from New York to New Orleans in the U.S.A. On his way to resuming his seat from the lavatory, Shasha felt a tap on his shoulder.
He turned and saw a white octogenarian. To his surprise the woman asked if he is a Ghanaian, he answered yes and asked how she knew.
She then said with confidence that she knows how Ghanaians look like. The woman who introduced herself as Anika told him she was in Ghana when Rawlings and Kuffuor made the boom and waa waa speeches respectively.
Shasha Marley told showghana.com that he had quite a lengthy chat with the old lady before resuming his seat. He wanted to go get her contact number a minute after he sat down but decided to wait until they arrive at their destination.
On reaching New Orleans, Shasha went back to Anika’s seat to get her contact information but she was nowhere to be found. He found a young lady in her seat instead who told him she’s been there since the aircraft took off from New York.
He couldn’t believe what the young lady told him so he chose to wait for her as he thought she might be in the lavatory. Shasha Marley said he waited until he turned out to be the last person to leave the flight.
As hard as he tried, he couldn’t find her anywhere at the airport. Two weeks later he saw Anika in a dream at the airport telling him to write that song. Thus, Shasha Marley had his revelation to add ‘boom boom waa waa’ to his ‘lost and found’ album, although he had already packaged the album.
Shasha Marley sang about Ghana politics and its fixation on Rawlings and Kuffuor. He advised Ghanaian journalists to ‘throw away the names’ so we can move forward.
The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Jim Fox of Lion and Fox recording studios in the U.S.A. It features some of the best players of instruments including Junior Marvin of Bob Marley’s Wailers band.
Shasha believes he’s a messenger sent by God to spread the message and says all the songs on the album were not written by his understanding, knowledge, power or might but by God who’s his divine source. The ‘boom boom waa waa’ song is already enjoying massive airplay in Accra as radio presenters scramble for copies.
