Alvin Slaughter, the former lead male vocalist of the multiple Grammy award winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir last Saturday 19th May, 2007, thrilled Ghanaian Gospel Music Fans to rich gospel Tunes.
The concert dubbed "Building His Kingdom" also featured seasoned and dynamic local artistes such as Danny Nettey, Nii Okine of “Moko be” fame, Tagoe Sisters and Rev. Yawson.
Among some of the top dignitaries who graced the occasion were Hon. S. K. Boafo – Minister for Chieftaincy and Culture, Charles Palmer Buckle and Rev. Fr. Campbell, among others.
When Alvin mounted the stage with the Port City Choir from Tema, it was full of praises and worship as the audience joined him to sing virtually all the songs he performed.
After singing series of his songs on request by the audience, he invited his son Shaun to the stage who also did the reggae gospel.
The show was MC-ed by Citi FM presenter, McDiamond Kojo Emekor Nyamekor and Besiwa Dowuona-Hammond of TV 3.
Building his kingdom was organized by World "O" Dreams Co. Ltd and Kemp Ghana Ltd in collaboration with Citi 97.3 fm and supported by Coconut Groove Regency, Westec Security, Classic Limousine, Christian Action Faith Ministries, Mastermix Studio Ltd, Vetlite Media, Nana Cloths, Nana Asihene, Designik, The Spinal Clinic and the Weekly Fylla.
