Mobo Award Winner and Best Artiste of the Year Batman Samini continues his journey and rise to fame as he now joins Stephen Appiah, captain of the Black Stars and Abraham Boakye (One Man Supporter) as Ambassadors for the MTN/African Cup of Nations 2008 to be hosted in Ghana.

Frank Appiah, Chief Executive Officer of Match West Africa, a subsidiary Match Communications South Africa, said the personalities were honoured by the South African-based organisation to market the continental football fiesta scheduled for January next year.

He said the Ambassadors would soon be outdoored at a grand ceremony whilst launch programmes involving entertainment and bazaars were also to be organised throughout the regions and districts to create awareness on the African Cup of Nations.

He disclosed that the MTN was in a take over bid of Ghana's largest cell phone network, Areeba, and added that the MTN/Areeba sponsorship of the CAN 2008 was on course.

B.T Baba, President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) and leader of the MTN sports promotion team, urged the media and Ghanaians to patronise programmes to be organised by MTN/Areeba.
