All is set for Public Awards Night of the Ghana Music Awards Festival 2007 as it comes of this saturday May 5th at the National Theatre.

Toping the list for this year’s public voting category of the awards are last year’s top award winner – Ofori Amonsah, one time award winners Wutah, Obrafour, Kweku Gyasi, Batman among others.

According to organizers, this year’s is the jubilee edition and by all standards will be much bigger than the previous ones.

Over the past seven years, The Ghana Music Awards has been organized by Charterhouse under the auspices of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) and the Ministry of Tourism, and has maintained its stand as the most prestigious and most recognized music event in the entertainment calendar of Ghana.

Since its inception in 2000, the Awards scheme has stood out as the only event that celebrates and recognizes the efforts of Ghanaian musicians in the country.

In this cause, the awards ceremony stands as the only platform on which Ghanaian musicians measure their strengths and weaknesses each year.

The Ghana Music Awards also serves as an inspiration to Ghanaian musicians – thus giving them reason to perform better and aim at being recognized in the next Awards.
