After the P&P publication that the Ghanaian highlife Music Maestro, Abrantie Amakye Dede has been dragged to Court over 2.5m cedis affair, the singer came out on air during a paper review programme on Peace Fm dubbed “Entertainment Review” to defend his stand on the matter.
Amakye Dede poured more fuel into the fire when he said “Nana yaw Agyapong had no pound to retrieve from me, besides I’m not bothered about his law suit.”
According to Amakye Dede, the Motorola mobile phone he sold to Nana Yaw Agyapong was among a number of brand new phones he brought down from abroad.
“Look, the guy came to confide in me that his girlfriend was on his nerves for a mobile phone and that he hasn’t got the money to buy one for her. I then told him I had just brought plenty mobile phones from abroad so I can give him one for him to come and settle me later”.
“At once he sighed a relief saying no problem I should offset the cost from the cost of the Air-conditioners he sold to me. Therefore when I was paying him, I deducted the Two Million Five Hundred cedis from the Forty Five Million cedis.
After all what is 2,500,000 to me that I cannot pay till I should be arraigned before the Law Court? Amakye Dede asked.
Meanwhile, Nana Yaw Agyapong also came on the same programme to say that the phone Abrantie Amakye Dede gave him was on benevolence bases.
You know when I explained my problem to him, he told me never to worry and that he had just imported brand new Motorola mobile phones. He then gave me one with no agreement whatsoever as he is now alleging.”
