The jubilee edition of Ghana Music Awards will see 12 key players in the development of Ghana’s music industry being honoured with special awards.

According to the organisers, Charter House, this category, the Ghana @ 50 Music Merit Awards, seek to recognise artistes, producers, engineers, administators or any personalities who have over the years contributed significantly to the growth of Ghana’s music industry.

At the foyer of the Accra International Conference Centre on Thursday May 3, at the Gala Night, the industry awards will be given out. They will include deserving Music Engineer, Instrumentalist, Music Producer, Music Technocrat and one leading music organization in the country.

Some of the competitive awards that will be given out on the night are Song Writer of the Year, Best Music Video Directing, Reggae Song of the Year, Traditional Group of the Year, Producer of the Year, Recording Engineer of the Year and Record Label of the Year.

The Ghana Music Awards is sponsored by Areeba, Unique Trust, Western Union and Coca Cola.
