The CEO of The Last Two Music Group, Hamma has released another mix- tape. ‘Crusade of the LostFiles’ becomes the third compilation to come out of the camp.
The album which was supposed to have been released last year, hit an unforeseen snag when some music files were lost due to a mysterious crashing of a hard drive in the Hush Hush studios.
‘The Lost Files’ was therefore inspired by a great fight by members of the camp to stay on top of their game even in times of major set backs.
Hamma says the idea behind the production of these compilations is a strong desire to see new artistes come out without going through the hassle of being suppressed by myths of the industry. “Unlike other compilations which have already made stars, the reason behind our compilations is to outdoor new talent,” he says.
The twelve- track album has artistes like Ayigbe Edem, Gbagbalaja, Ashes, Adwie, Aboa Kesse and Bra Laryea, some of whom are already working on their solo albums with Hamma.
‘The Crusade of the Lost Files’ comes after other compilations like ‘The Executioner’s Diary’ and ‘Sounds of our Time’.
The album is already out and the producer says sales are picking up. Radio air play has not been very encouraging, and from what he says, he is not going to bow to the pressures of payola.
“The album is selling. Anybody who buys it respects it. I don’t want it to be an instant hit and fail after a while. This is an album that will do well even in a couple of years to come.”
