A-16 MEMBER cultural troupe from Ghana is scheduled to fly to India on Thursday December 14, 2006 to participate in activities aimed at enhancing the cultural relationship between the two countries.
Organised under the auspices of the Indian community in Ghana, the troupe is expected to visit major cities such as New Delhi, Lucknow and Chandigarh where it would perform.
On the programme is an exhibition of Ghanaian art and craft. Disclosing these in a press statement signed by Mr. Kanti Raman, secretary of the Indian community in Ghana, in Accra last Monday, said the group is made up of 14 artistes from the Ghana Dance Company (GDC), and one visual artist, from the Ghana Association of Visual Artists (GAVA).
The group would be led by the Director of International Relations, National Commission on Culture, Ghana.
The statement indicated that the India Council for Cultural Relations is well prepared to receive the troupe.
