OKOTOBRIGYA CULTURAL Troupe, a youthful traditional music and dance group will, this Christmas, celebrate its 10th Anniversary with a series of performances at various venues in Accra.
The performances, which would feature acrobaticdisplays and traditional dance competitions, would include a number of contemporary music groups in Accra.
Since its formation, the group has thrilled diverse audiences in Accra, and its surrounding areas with its own variations of traditional music and dance as well as contemporary dance pieces.
In 2001, some members of the group participated in the World Children's Festival, a large scale multi-cultural festival, held in the Dutch capital, Amsterdam.
In 2003, the group won the first-ever Yosakoi dance competition, organised by the Japanese Embassy in Accra. Last month, Okotobrigya picked the second prize for the 2006 edition of the Yosakoi competition.
Traditional music and dance fans in and around Accra are assured of wonderful magical performances during the Christmas holidays by Okotobrigya, which is set torelease new dance pieces.
Fans would be dazzled by young, exuberant artistes as Isaac Nti, Reuben Commodore, Rozo Tagoe, Kwashie Kuwonu, Gloria Aboagye, Gladys Tsotsoo and Fatima Abu.
