Ms Akiwumi launching her Halleluyah Yedi Nkunim album. Ghana’s celebrated gospel musical artiste, Diana Akiwumi once again hits the gospel music scene with her latest release and debut album titled Hallelujah Yedi Nkunim featuring the popular Happy Birthday song.

The 12-track musical collection has such songs as Yeshua, Expecting Jesus, Me da wo ase, Have your way in me, The Lord reigneth and You alone are worthy.

The song track which are recorded on cassettes, Compact Disc (CD), Digital Video Disc (DVD) and Video Compact Disc (VCD), brings to nine the number of gospel album she has released so far.

Launching the musical albums at the Tema Community 12 Youth with a Mission Headquarters where she runs a performing arts ministry for young talented youth to explore the hidden talents, Ms Akiwumi said the latest release was a sign of many things to happen on the gospel arena.

She said she was out of the public for some time to enable her to adequately do more work quietly and bounce back on the scene with a shocker such as her latest release.

Ms Akiwum used the occasion to call on music producers who are involved in promoting Ghanaian artistes to go beyond Ghana stressing that they can start with ECOWAS countries in the interim.

According to the gospel legend, there were lots of cultural events taking place around the world today, but Ghanaian artistes are unable to participate in any of them due to the lack of proper management and funds.

“Believe me, football has brought fame to Ghana but music can do more,” she said.
Ms Akiwumi announced that she would soon embark on a gospel music festival which would take her to Benin and other West African countries on a gospel music trail.
