The Gospel music industry has always seen a lot of artistes passing through; some are able to finish the journey but others pause somewhere along the line.
One of such people, who are striving to accomplish the task, is Pastor Peter Kayode Falarungbon.
He is a native of Akure in a state called Ondo in Nigeria. He has lived in Ghana for the past nine (9) years and married to Mrs. Norkor Luluoni Falarungbon a Ghanaian with a lovely daughter Esther Oluwatoyin.
Pastor Peter Kayode is the general overseer of the Awakeners’ Chapel International and was called into Christ’s Ministry some years back through the Salvation Army Church after coming face to face with death on three consecutive times.
He started singing right form his youthful stage and established the Awakeners singers thirty (30) years ago in Nigeria. The group was made up of young boys and girls but somewhere along the line the group collapsed. Pastor Kayode attributes the collapse of the group to the fact that every member was doing his/her own thing; since they were all from different churches and were not restricted by anybody.
Pastor Kayode used to sing in church whenever he was preaching or demonstrating God’s power. Due to this he was compelled to come out with an album two years ago. His first album “Awake for Jesus” which had soul inspiring tracks like “Count your Blessings” had great air play and was able to win some souls for Christ.
He is not only a Pastor or a gospel musician but also a writer who has a lot of Christian books to his credit.
“The secret of my life” the title of his second album is currently on board and enjoying massive airplay. The album has tracks like “thank you Jesus” and “The secret of my life” which has already been accepted by the public.
It is produced by Awakeners’ Chapel and distributed nationwide by Adjei Boadi and Big Ben music shops. The album was officially unleashed in Awakeners’ Chapel Auditorium at Kotobabi-down a suburb of Accra on the 31st of March, 2007.
The launching was a memorable one with important dignitaries like Chief Oturnota, President for Forum Of Nigerian Professionals and also representing the Nigerian Ambassador to Ghana, Mrs. Stella Ayarega from African Women Development Fund, Warrant Officer Djan special Assistant representing the Defense Minister and Publisher for Co-operate Ghana, Oscar Ogun.
The master MC for the occasion was Gabriel Bosompem, a seasoned journalist from TV3 network and was assisted by Pastor Kola.
The program proceeded very well and the first CD was bought by Oscar Ogun for 20 million cedis.
Other musicians were there to contribute their quota to the program. They were Hannah Marfo, Collins Nyantakyi and Christiana.
The audience was thrilled with performances from Pastor Peter Kayode himself and the great artiste who were there to support him.
